Since I was little I've been writing my life's story in my head. Each new revision always had to be some fantastic tale and then I went out and lived it. I thought that cyberpunks were cool so I became a web designer before I finished high school. At eighteen, I ran off to live in Portland. For five years, I was a wildland fire fighter, and during the winter, I traveled the country in search of snow for my snowboard. I lived free, with adventure beneath my wings.

Then one day, I realized that what I really loved more than the adventures were the stories. Stories like the ones that my father told me while I was growing up in the newspaper photo department where he worked. Something changed in me when I realized that I could tell other people's stories using the the type of photography that my father had instilled in me since I was twelve.

Don't get me wrong, I love adventure, but I love telling stories through images more. My life has taught me that other people's stories often teach us hidden truths about ourselves. I love the idea that a story about someone else can teach someone something about themselves and possibly bring the world closer together.
